Blue Thistle Beaded Purse

You Will Need

3-inch clasp as pictured, inside dimensions, closed: 2-1/4 inches x 1-1/8 inches

60 yards of YLI silk cord 1000 denier, Corn Flower Blue

2 hanks of blue pearlized size 11 seed beads

Size 11 white pearl-toned seed beads, 4 grams or 1/8 oz.

Size 000 or 0000 double pointed knitting needles Size 10 or 11 beading needle

This little purse uses the knitting techniques of the antique beaded purses made at the turn of the nineteenth century. The thistle pattern idea at the top is a new touch I added to update this style.

Finished size: 5 inches x 4 inches at the widest point

Slide seven strands of the blue beads onto the silk cord. Thread the needle and string the thistle pattern on the Blue Thistle Beaded Purse design chart, from Row 12 to Row 1, right to left or left to right (the design is symmetrical), separating each row with a small piece of paper.
